Study environment surveys

A good study environment is an important prerequisite for your well-being and opportunities for learning and professional development. The most important source of knowledge about the study environment and the potential for its improvement is, of course, you and your fellow students.

Systematic evaluations of the study environment

It is absolutely essential for the development of the study environment at AAU that you and your fellow students share your experiences and opinions on it. At AAU, we therefore systematically collect knowledge about your and your fellow students' experience of the study environment.

Since 2023, AAU's study environment survey has been conducted as an integrated part of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science's national survey 'the Danish Student Survey'.

The questions in the Danish Student Survey are sent out to students at all higher education institutions. In addition, AAU has added a few more institution-specific questions that students at AAU also receive.
In the survey, you will be asked about your experience of:

  • The learning and study environment
  • Well-being and community
  • Pressure, stress and loneliness
  • Offensive and abusive behaviour
  • Digital study environment
  • Physical study environment

Processing the results

The results of your evaluations are processed by the study board, and the information about improvement potentials is passed on to the relevant actors who have the responsibility and opportunity to act on it. By answering the evaluations, you therefore have a direct influence on how your particular study environment can be strengthened.

Study environment reports

On this page, you can find both new and previous reports with the evaluations of the study environment at AAU. The results on the page can be found at institutional, faculty and campus level, respectively.

You can also read about other studies that AAU also uses to develop and improve your study environment.

AAU's internal study environment survey

Until 2023, we at AAU conducted our own study environment survey, where the same questions about the study environment were asked to all AAU's students (on the ordinary degree programmes) via your evaluations of the semester.
Until then, the 'Danish Student Survey' was considered a supplement to our own study.

Via the links below, you can access the results from the previous reports. NB. that the reports are in Danish.

Eurostudent

'Eurostudent' is a European study that compares the framework for learning and well-being in higher education among students from Denmark, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. • Professional relations and contact with fellow students
  • Assessment of the teachers
  • Student efforts and professional expectations
  • Affiliation and apostasy
  • Mental problems among students

The purpose of the report is to compare data across the Nordic countries.
