Study Environment Day 2018 in Copenhagen
Physical and social study environment on the agenda

The Study Environment Day was conducted at campus in Copenhagen (AAU CPH).
The theme this year was developing ideas to how the study environment on AAU CPH can be improved both physically and socially.
The day consisted of presentations and idea development in workshops. The presentations were given by prorector and the associate deans for educations, who gave a status of the university’s work with the three efforts in AAU’s Study Environment Strategy. This was followed by
presentations from the management and students from AAU CPH, with a focus on the students' opportunity to influence and be active participants in the development of the study environment at AAU CPH.
Afterwards the workshops revolved around four themes: “activities and events”, “indoor facilities”, “outdoor facilities” and “organizing and influence”. In the workshop concerned about outdoor facilities, the participants rethought, among other things, the area between building A and B. They made sketches and discussed ideas about a tennis courts and nature on one of the big parking lots.
Regarding the indoor facilities the participants, among other things, talked about the possibility of making it clearer where groups can study at campus. One idea was, for example, that students should be able to see yellow, green, and red zones for physical opportunities for group work via indoor maps.
Among other proposals, there was a desire for the "Campus Director meetings" - also called pizza meetings, to locate the meetings closer to the students' daily environments, namely in one of the canteens. At the meetings, students can discuss directly with the campus director regarding input and wishes for campus development, while they eat pizza.
The day gave the students insights in the opportunities, that already exists to get involved in the development of their study environment, as well as direct impact on the day itself via idea development and forward-looking initiatives within the study environment.
